Oregon’s Best-Stocked Liquor Stores: Who Carries the Most

Not all Oregon liquor stores are created equal. Some stock a few hundred products focused on the basics. Others carry over 2,000 different bottles, rivaling specialty retailers anywhere in the country.

If selection matters to you—whether you’re building a home bar, hunting something specific, or just like having options—knowing which stores stock the deepest inventory saves time.

We analyzed current OLCC data to find the Oregon liquor stores with the largest 750ml selection, the standard bottle size for spirits.

Bend Takes the Top Spot

3rd Street Beverage in Bend carries 2,470 different 750ml products—more than any other store in Oregon.

This might surprise Portland residents who assume the big city dominates everything, but Bend punches way above its weight in spirits retail. The combination of resort-town tourism, affluent locals, and a culture that takes drinking seriously has created a market for deep selection.

Three Bend stores land in the statewide top 20, which is remarkable for a city of around 100,000 people.

Portland’s Heavy Hitters

Portland claims the next two spots. Sip City Spirits stocks 2,279 products, and Hollywood Beverage carries 2,237.

These stores serve Portland’s cocktail culture—bartenders stocking up, home enthusiasts exploring, and the generally curious. Both carry everything from budget mixers to rare Japanese whisky, covering any possible need.

If you’re in Portland proper, you’re never far from serious selection.

The Suburban Surprises

Some of the best selection isn’t where you’d expect.

Stafford Beverage in Wilsonville, right off I-5 between Portland and Salem, carries 2,151 products—fourth best in the state. It serves both commuters and destination shoppers who know what they’re looking for.

Tualatin Liquor stocks 2,054 products, making it one of the best suburban options in the metro area.

Hillsboro has quietly become a spirits destination, with Left Coast Beverage at 2,026 products and two other stores in the top 20. The tech industry workforce seems to appreciate having options.

Regional Patterns

A few things stand out when you look at the list.

Portland metro claims 11 of the top 20, which makes sense given population. But density within Portland varies—some neighborhoods have multiple excellent stores while others have nothing close.

Bend’s three stores in the top 20 represent genuine overperformance. The town has cultivated a drinking culture that supports ambitious inventory.

Salem holds its own with Lancaster Liquor and nearby Keizer Liquor. Together they give the capital region access to over 3,600 products without driving to Portland.

Hillsboro’s three stores suggest the tech corridor has developed tastes worth catering to.

What Selection Actually Means

A store with 2,400 products versus one with 800 isn’t just carrying “more stuff.” It means they stock the premium bottles alongside the everyday ones, the obscure mezcals next to the standard tequilas, the craft gins that most stores skip.

Deep selection matters when you’re looking for something specific, want to explore a category, or just prefer not to settle. It matters less if you know exactly what you want and it’s widely available—in that case, any store works.
